Anush Mirbegian is a creative cultural activist based between New York and Barcelona. Her work in art, design and fashion is intertwined with an active passion to initiate a meaningful dialogue about human and cultural rights.
Inspired by teaching women to sew in Armenia, her fathers ethnic homeland, Anush has continued to work with under served communities who work with their hands. She has provided creative consulting services to artisans around the world, from Afghanistan to Tanzania, in hopes to preserve valued ancient artisan traditions and create social and economic opportunities for women artisans.
Inspired by the ancient craft of hand made alpargatas, a shoe making technique that dates back centuries, Anush founded Es Par Ta, a line of espadrilles, in 2016. Es Par Ta has worked with artisan groups in Spain, Japan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan to create three collections of alpargatas, which have been featured in British Vogue, L'Officiel Mexico and Moda Operandi.
Anush studied in Florence Italy and New York City at Polimoda Firenze, FIT, The New School and the Pratt Institute. Since 2005, she has worked in trend forecasting, design, styling and research with fashion and trend brands around the world.
